Wii Sports is a workout

So the Wii just kicks all kinds of ass.

A friend at work spent $460 to get one off eBay and after playing for ninety minutes my shoulder hurts!

Bowling is the most fun. I could only rack up a 188 (my real life score would be about seventy to eighty less) as I kept curving the ball left too much. The motion you go through here is the most realistic, and your control over the ball is quite good.

Baseball was fun, though harder to play when you act it out fully. The first time through I took an actual batting stance and swung through, with decent results. Later, though, I simply held the controller in front of me and snapped it to swing, enabling me to circle the bat in advance of a pitch like most batters do and then hit grand slams that forced the mercy rule. Damn.

Boxing is clumsy but damn fun, and got me hot and sweaty. The on-screen punches don't respond perfectly to yours, but after a while I was able to jab with my left quickly and deliver a knockout blow with my right. If you think it's not gratifying to throw that killer punch and sit down and rest while your opponent is counted out, then you are WRONG.

Wears a brother out, though.

Golf was meh. Tennis was more fun, and seeming more accurate when you did the actual racket motions with the remote rather than just snapping it, a nice change from baseball.
