Facebook + Blog = Big Hugs!

Content? Yeah, I plan to bring it. I've got another album from the honeymoon to post, and then for the sake of the blog I'll be linking to all the Facebook albums I've posted over the last month (you should be able to view them even if you don't have an account.) Also, with the Simpsons Movie out next week I'm planning a somewhat monster post with my top ten Simpsons. Episodes. Ever. And it will rock.

So...

For the last few months I've been simulcasting my website on Facebook since so many friends have easier access (and better notification) to my posts and the comment system, with notification to everyone when others have commented, et cetera, is so awesome.

That said, Facebook still limits what formatting I can do in my posts, and finding old ones/reading through archives is tenuous at best. Having redesigned my website, http://www.exit670.com, I'll be redoubling my efforts there while still cross-posting anything I can on Facebook. I'm also going to try to talk the Wife into contributing to the site or at least cross-posting her notes here. Given I haven't mentioned it to her as of press time, and the first she'll hear of it is this writing, we'll see how it goes.

All that said, I'm implementing two other things to attempt to better the access to the blog:

I hope to have email notifications for new posts available before long. You'll notice on the website that in the upper right corner there's a link that reads "Update Notification," but it doesn't go anywhere. Yet. The idea here is you give me your email address and you get an automatic mailing everytime I update, just like with Facebook notes and pictures that mention you now. This is common with blogs, and should be easy to do. I just haven't looked through MT 4 to see how to do it yet.

As requested, there's now an RSS feed, which can be reached through, again, a link in the upper right corner of the website. Hopefully it works; I don't use RSS. For the uninitiated, RSS readers (which Facebook is by default, I believe, and I know Google has one I used briefly with my gmail account) aggregate content as updated and you simply login and view all the new posts from your various feeds. You can subscribe to newspapers, blogs, et cetera and look at all the new content at the same time. Not my cup of tea, but I certainly understand and respect the convenience.

Hopefully, as I attempt to write more and more, peoples can read it. And even comment when warranted. We shall see.
